It was similar but a different prop. It was an underwater probe called MUDWORM that becomes sentient when a circuit board blows. It looked like a box with arms.
Hey friend, I want to jump in here and just say that as I remember that “probe” episode, it was either MARS or VENUS it was built for and in the show, Austin had to fight the thing while Oscar Goldman ordered a enitire town evacuated because that probe was so dangerous!!

It was Venus. Steve wouldn’t have a problem with a probe built for Mars. But a probe that would survive Venus is even tougher than Bigfoot.
William Shatner did great job in that episode.
His real name is Steve Williams. But there was already a wrestler named Steve Dr. Death Williams, so he took the name Austin (Steve Austin) from the character in the Six Million Dollar Man.

If the 6$M Man can throw his opponent so hard that it makes the building shake, how come there’s not a scratch on the wall? Oh, and that is the WORST Bigfoot costume I have ever seen. In fact, it’s the worst costume I’ve seen period!

@fjccommish Not sure. I watched an interview with Austin who said a promoter he was working for gave him the name. Apparently, the promoter gave Austin a chance to give himself a name, but he couldn’t come up with anything in the time he was allowed.
